The College recognises that reconciliation calls us to
acknowledge past injustices, the ongoing impacts for Aboriginal and Torris
Strait Islander peoples and move toward healing and understanding. We have a
long-standing commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander peoples.
St John Fisher College is committed to reconciliation
through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) (PDF 4.1MB).
This formal plan outlines how our College will strengthen relationships, show
respect, and create opportunities within the classroom, across the school, and
in partnership with the wider community.
The RAP Committee includes community Elders, BCEO staff,
community members, College staff, and students. Each year, new tasks and
responsibilities are identified to ensure ongoing progress and meaningful
action.
We are committed to strengthening and building relationships
with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community through students,
their families, staff, and externally with local Elders and the wider First
Nations community.
