St John Fisher College Participates in "Design My Future" Careers Forum: Inspiring Students to Shape Their Pathways St John Fisher College is proud of its participation in the "Design My Future" careers forum, organised to give Years 10 to 12 students, a platform to interact with various career and educational providers.
Acting Deputy Principal Mr. Steven Ruddy said, with a mission to inspire students in choosing a pathway aligned with their skills and passions, Design My Future opens doors to endless possibilities beyond the school gates.
“Design My Future presents an invaluable opportunity for our Year 10 and Year 12 students to explore and be inspired by the diverse range of career options available to them," Mr. Ruddy said.
“By considering their strengths and passions, they can make informed decisions about their future pathways.
“Design My Future will features industry professionals who will share their expertise and provide valuable insights into their respective fields.
“The event also offers students the opportunity to network with professionals and potential employers, fostering connections that may prove beneficial in their future careers."
Among the exhibitors are renowned universities from the Brisbane and Moreton Bay Region, including ACU, USQ, UQ, USC, Griffith, and QUT.
In addition, representatives from TAFE Queensland, Queensland Police Service, Defence Force Recruitment, MEGT, Headspace, JMC Academy, and Brisbane Broncos Sports Institute will be present at the event.
Mr. Ruddy said, to ensure continued engagement and support beyond the forum, students can stay connected with the Design My Future community through various avenues.
“Contacts made during the expo will serve as valuable resources, and the SJFC Pathways Team, including our Vocational Educational Training Curriculum Leader, Miss Laura Chapman, as well as the school counsellors, and Curriculum Leaders, will provide ongoing guidance," he said.
“By participating in the "Design My Future" careers forum, St John Fisher College reaffirms its commitment to empowering students to shape their future pathways.
“The event is an enriching experience, inspiring students to explore their passions and make informed decisions about their careers."
