St John Fisher Bursary Fund

As the festive season and end of the school year rolls around many of us like to show our gratitude to one another with a gift. There is a strong tradition at the College for this gift to be one that pays it forward by donating to a charity or a worthy cause. This year we are encouraging our community to donate to our newly established bursary, founded in 2019 by three year 9 students. Realising and appreciating the opportunities their education provides, the founding students, set about to create a Bursary to make an education at St John Fisher College available for students whose families are experiencing financial hardship. To make this bursary a sustainable one, the fund balance needs to sit at $50,000 with the current balance sitting at $7,676.68.

Girls’ education goes beyond academics and opportunity, it is about ensuring girls feel safe and empowered to make decisions about their own lives. Girls face many more barriers to education than their male counterparts with women making up more than two-thirds of the world’s 796 million illiterate people. Through this bursary, we can offer a child a better life, a better future and the opportunity to change their circumstances with the power of knowledge and education. To donate head to:
