On Tuesday
29th October, St John Fisher College Year 12 student, Abby Ryan was presented
with the Caltex Best All Rounder Award.
Presented
at the College’s Night of Excellence by Mr Peter McKavanagh, Caltex Australia
Planning and Purchasing Manager, this prestigious award is one of Australia’s
most respected secondary education recognition programs.
Presented
to thousands of final-year students across the country, the award acknowledges
the student’s all-round contribution to their school and the community.

John Fisher College Principal Ms Cathy Galvin comments; “Abby is the very
essence of what we teach and promote at St John Fisher College; implicitly
reliable, conscientious in her academics and involved and committed across a
number of events and activities.”
“Abby was elected as 2019 House Leader and throughout her time she
has displayed strong leadership and fostered a sense of community and House
spirit across all year levels.”
“She has also involved herself in a number of cocurricular
activities in the areas of sport, culture and service and has enjoyed all-round
success whist at the College”.
Head of Sport, Tamara Sparks commented on Abby’s mental toughness
in completing the Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge earlier this year.
“Abby is a wonderful role model and we are excited to watch her
journey unfold as she graduates from the College next month,” says Ms
Galvin.
